Are you 40? Perfect!

Even if you did not do too much sport so far and you are just starting or if you have already settled for a sport routine, check out some of the sport routines that 40s agree with. 🙂

 

If you already practice fitness routine, then you can add to your weekly program some different practice to improve your flexibility, mobility, coordination, etc. That is, if you are not doing it already. And if you were not that much active so far, then you should try some low impact routines that will get you in shape and don’t come with risks, even for beginners. What is a low impact routine? Is the one that doesn’t push you too much, that doesn’t take your breath away, such as swimming, walking, cycling, rowing, etc.

Here are some options you might be interested in trying, especially if you are at the beginning: you can start with easier exercises and grow into more difficult routines.

 

Yoga is the perfect reunion between body, mind and spirit. As practice, yoga is a good way to start to move, especially if you don’t have such significant previous sport experience. It combines physical postures, breathing techniques and meditation or relaxation. Yoga is low-impact and safe for people when guided by a good instructor and injury occur quite rare.  However, if you are just starting with yoga, better avoid extreme poses and difficult techniques, such as headstand, lotus position, and forceful breathing.

 

Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. Pilates moves tend to target the core, although the exercises work also other areas of the body. You can do Pilates with or without equipment and expect slow and precise movements and breathe control. Pilates offers many benefits to the body, no matter your fitness background. You will improve your posture, focus on body alignment and get an intense practice and great results. Take your time with the exercises, focus on the moves and watch out for the breathing.

 

Aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic  aerobic exercise with stretching and strength routine. It aims improving all elements of fitness: flexibility, strength and resistance. Aerobics helps to raise the fitness level, decreases your body mass index, decreases blood pressure, helps loosing body fat, relieves anxiety and tension. At the end, you will feel fabulous due to toned muscles, improved posture and increased flexibility. Take care at breathing and watch the posture so that you avoid potential injuries.
